Medical Cosmetics – treatments with Lip fillers in Nottingham
Lip filler injection
Regularly curved and full lips with clear contours are beautiful and sensual. If the shape of the lips is too narrow or the ratio of upper and lower lip is uneven, this is often perceived as un-aesthetic for those affected. A lip correction can help through subtle changes in lip shape and lip size.
Lip enhancements at Medical Cosmetics
Here at Medical Cosmetics, we do not use any artificial materials for lip enhancements. We only use hyaluronic acid (Restylane and Juvederm), a crystal-clear gel for our lip enhancement procedures. Hyaluronic acid is a substance that is naturally present in the human body.
As we get old, the production rate of natural hyaluronic acid in our body slows down, which can cause the loss of definition, shape and volume in our skin including the lips.
So when the lips are injected with hyaluronic acid, it means refilling the lost hyaluronic acid and a “top-up” of missing volume. This way, you will get more volume and a more defined looking lip contour.
LIP CORRECTION – METHODS, RESULTS & COST
Lip injection with hyaluronic acid
Hyaluronic acid is a bio-technically produced, a gelatinous substance that according to current knowledge cannot trigger allergies or other rejection reactions.
Hyaluronic acid is injected with a short, very thin needle. The body is then slowly breaking down the hyaluronic acid; the results usually last five and six months.
The process can be repeated as needed. According to scientific findings, the body should also be stimulated by the treatment to produce its own hyaluronic acid.
Hyaluronic acid lip injecting is a gentle way of adjusting the shape and size of the lips to suit the client’s needs. If you want to make your lips bigger, our experienced team will tell you in advance about the possibilities of lip correction and then increase your lip volume by the targeted injection of high-quality hyaluronic acid. By treating the lips with hyaluronic acid, the volume in the red lip area can be built up or restored, the lip shape defined and an overall beautiful and natural looking result can be achieved.
What should be considered during lip correction?
The Medical Cosmetics team has extensive experience and is specialised in lip- and wrinkle treatment. In lip correction, they primarily focus on the harmonious shaping of beautiful lips, taking into account and preserving specific characteristics of a natural mouth. Even a subtle lip correction can achieve sufficient improvements and lead to beautiful lip results. It is of fundamental importance to every lip correction that the doctor always doses the injected agent very precisely in order to achieve a harmonious mouth.
Results of lip filler injections
Lip correction is a very low-risk and hassle-free way to generate more lip volume or to emphasise the lip contour. In addition, asymmetric lip shapes can be compensated with the right injection technique, straightened oblique lips can be safely and gently, or a blurred or pasted lip contour can be restored or refined. Also, the reduction of any upper lip wrinkles can be perceived as a pleasant side effect when correcting the lips with an injection.
Right after the lip enhancement procedure, you may at first experience some redness, swelling and slight discomfort, which resolves after a short time (1-2 hours).
The effects of the treatment are visible immediately, and they will typically last between 6-12 months.

Here are some answers to the most frequently asked questions about lip corrections:
What are the general advantages of this treatment?
Whether your lips have always been a bit thin, or you want to have the lip shape back you had when you were younger – a lip enhancement can give you the appearance you desire. In case you are not happy with the look of your lips, or even your self-confidence is disturbed, this technique can offer a new way to change the size/shape of your lips.
What will happen during the first personal consultation?
When you come to us for the first time for personal consultation, you will sit with Dr Asher Siddiqi to talk about the changes that you would like to make. Dr Siddiqi will then talk you through the various options, advise you on the optimal procedure for yourself and any particular risks/limitations. Please take your time and ask if you have any questions about the treatment.
It is also very important that you let us know about your expectations as accurately as possible. Take photos with you to show us if you can so we can get an idea of what you want and what you don’t want. So we can then discuss with you whether a lip correction with a Hyaluronic acid makes sense for you.
Duration of this treatment?
The procedure only takes about 10-15 minutes.
Is the treatment painful?
Lip injections are in principle performed under local anaesthesia (Lidocaine) to ensure a pain-free and thus a pleasant treatment. Also, only with local anaesthesia, the material can be sufficiently kneaded after injection and thus distributed nicely and naturally. This is to prevent the formation of individual, non-contiguous depots, which are then palpable or visible.
What happens after the procedure?
Immediately after the treatment, the lips may feel sore and swell slightly. Using cold compresses will minimise any swelling. On the day, speaking, chewing etc. should be kept to a minimum. Medications can be taken to reduce any pain.
How long will it take for me to recover?
Most patients can resume their usual activities after two days.
We recommend the procedure just before the weekend.
Who is this sort of treatment for?
In general, women and men of almost all ages can have their lips corrected if they:
- Are physically healthy.
- Are psychologically stable.
- Are well informed about the procedure and healing time.
- Understand and accept the limitations of this process.
- Are not allergic to the material to be used.
- Have a realistic expectation concerning the result.
*The treatment results can vary from patient to patient. Results cannot be guaranteed.
The above criteria are just a few of those Dr Siddiqi takes into account when speaking to a patient.
We want to achieve the best outcome of any treatment for you.
