Vaser LIPO FAQS
VASER Lipo is a relatively new type of advanced liposuction treatment. Here we answer some of the commonly asked questions about this procedure.
Q. What is VASER Lipo?
A. VASER Lipo is a body contouring treatment that uses state-of-the-art ultrasound technology to gently remove unwanted deposits of fat.
VASER stands for Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance. Cells in the body vibrate naturally, and Vaser amplifies this process to break down fat cells.
This procedure is suitable for all areas of the body, from head to toe including the back, chin, stomach and arms. It is targeted where fat is difficult to get rid of, even if you maintain a good diet and partake in regular exercise.
What is the procedure for Vaser LIPO?
A. Medical Cosmetics’ VASER Lipo treatments are carried out in our Nottingham aesthetic clinic by a doctor. Following your initial consultation, you’ll receive an appointment to come back to the clinic. On the day, you will be given a mild sedative and antibiotic before the procedure begins. You will be given a local anaesthetic and then the VASER cannula is inserted. Ultrasound technology is used to vibrate and melt down the fat cells. The liquified fat is removed using gentle suction.
Q. What should I expect after my treatment?
A. You will need to take a course of antibiotics and wear a compression garment after the procedure. There may also be some swelling and soreness, but this is nothing to worry about. In the days and weeks following the treatment, you will see almost daily improvements and as the swelling goes down, your sleeker new shape will be revealed.
Q. What’s the difference between liposuction and VASER?
A. VASER is a more modern and less invasive version of traditional liposuction – which is considered to be a more serious procedure and has a greater recovery time.
VASER can be done under local anaesthetic, meaning you won’t need to stay overnight and won’t be exposed to the associated risks of general anaesthetic. It also costs less than a traditional lipo procedure would.
It is a much gentler procedure, carried out with the latest advancements in technology. This makes it much safer with fewer side effects so it’s quicker to get back to your daily routine.
Q. What are the side effects?
A. You may experience soreness for a few days, and possible aching for up to four weeks. Bruising and swelling may occur. Your doctor will talk you through all of the potential side effects prior to your treatment.
Q. How much does VASER Lipo cost?
A. This treatment does vary in price depending on which area(s) of the body you want treating and how much treatment you need. Our prices start at £1500. Click here to find out how to book a face-to-face or virtual consultation with us.
